Amazon Appstore is Amazon.com's store for Android applications.
Amazon Appstore works very similarly to the Android Market– it provides a store from which you can download apps for your mobile device. You'll be able to enjoy many of the same features as when you browse the Amazon website, such as user reviews, similar products and even interact with customer support.
When you use Amazon Appstore for Android, you'll need to log in with your Amazon.com credentials, and you will also need to have a linked credit card for one-click purchasing, even for free apps. The main screen shows you the most interesting apps of the moment, and you can also browse categories and search manually.
If you look at the menu options for Amazon Appstore, you'll see links to apps you have already downloaded, recommendations for you and a few more administrative tools, like leaving feedback and contacting customer service. There are also links to see your recently viewed apps and items that you have saved for later.
Unfortunately, the recommendations didn't work during testing, and the app was frequently slow and buggy – although this may have been due to high levels of traffic. In all, Amazon Appstore for Android is a nice-looking application. Sometimes developers have special, exclusive deals with Amazon Appstore, and it’s the only way to access these offers. At the same time, using it wasn’t comfortable, and we really didn’t like the fact that you can’t log out.
Amazon Appstore is an alternative way of getting apps for your Android phone, but the application feels like it still needs a lot of work before it's perfect.
Notes
In order to use Amazon Appstore, you must have a valid Amazon.com account and a linked credit card
